UIA Director General Robert Mukiza urges Kisoro traders to become manufacturers

KISORO- The Director General of Uganda Investment Authority Robert Mukiza has asked the people especially the business community of Kisoro District transform themselves into manufacturers and be able to occupy the Industrial Park in their area saying that it is a great catalyst to Kisoro’s development and Uganda at large.

He encouraged traders to get themselves ready and prepare to occupy and enter the industrial park ecosystem as manufacturers not traders saying that they will benefit more compared to as traders.

Mukiza made the remarks last evening while hosting the Kisoro District local government leaders and area traders for dinner at Tourist hotel where he re- echoed the government’s commitment to developing the Kisoro industrial park.

District offered Uganda investment authority 620 acres of land for the development of an industrial park.

He noted that since Kisoro district borders with Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda which is strategically expose the district to these huge markets.

“Once the industrial park is constructed and manufacturing begins, manufacturers will enjoy the Congo and Rwanda markets,” Mukiza said.

The district leadership headed by the Chairman Abel Biziimana thanked Mukiza for always bringing the Kisoro people together, which he said is great effort.

In his remarks District Chairman Bizimana said tgat they always want to be together as sign unity in Kisoro and therefore having it at heart, Kisoro and its people will always give back.

The function was attended by strong and vocal leaders including Kisoro District NRM Chairperson Dr Philemon Mateeke who is also the former Minister for Foreign Affairs, former Inspector General of Police  Gen Kale Kayihura and Bufumbira North Member of Parliament Hon Nzeyimana Kamara, the District Khadhi , LC-3 Chairpersons and the NRM district leadership.
