Victoria Abigail joins Rukiga woman MP race

Atukunda Victoria Abigail a social worker has jetted in the Rukiga woman MP race and was nominated Friday.


She says she will work hard and the voters had asked her to contest. Abigail lost in the last same race to Kamusime Caroline.
She was nominated on Friday at Rukiga district electoral commission offices in Muhanga town council.
“My supporter and the Rukiga people have asked me to contest, I therefore offer my self again to serve the people of Rukiga as their woman MP.

I will focus on development and unity, together we can achieve much to regain the glory of Rukiga both in delivering on the ground and be visible on the flower of parliament” she said.


Others in the race are; Aturinda Elizabeth, Fortunate Niwasasira and the FDC flag bearer Judith Aturinda.
Abigail who worked with a huge water development organization (Amaizi Marungi) did a lot in serving people with water in Kabale and Rukiga.
“Abigail is an orator and friendly and development oriented, if elected to parliament she will make Rukiga regain its glory. We are happy to have her in he race again” Elizabeth Kyomugisha a voter said.


“We can fight poverty, we need lobbying, we need to coordinate government programs, we need organized locals in development and savings groups, we can” she told the Eastafricanwatch.net managing Editor.
Abigail is also a business woman and runs some NGO’s in the country well networked with some donors abroad.
