WordCamp US 2024: A Window of Opportunity for African Youth in Tech .
This week marks the highly anticipated WordCamp US 2024, one of the largest WordPress events globally, uniting tech enthusiasts, developers, content creators, and business innovators from all walks of life. Among the esteemed attendees are my friend, mentor, and sponsor, Mr. William Jackson, and his wife, Aidah Correa Jackson. Their presence at such an impactful event speaks to their unwavering commitment to the WordPress community and youth empowerment in technology, especially for African teens and young adults like me, Ndejje Moses.

WordCamps are designed to foster collaboration, education, and innovation within the WordPress ecosystem, and they provide unparalleled networking opportunities for those who attend. While I haven’t had the chance to attend WordCamp US in person, the stories and experiences shared by Mr. Jackson are encouraging. He has long been a supporter of African youth in technology, especially through his sponsorship of WordCamp events in Uganda, where I’ve been privileged to attend seven times. His financial and mentorship support has enabled many of us to engage with the wider tech world, gain new skills, and connect with international professionals.
