Dr. Kayongo Busulwa Stephen has today advised Christians to overcome low self-esteem, be confident and awaken their full potentials and talents to advance to greatness in life.
He also advised Christians not to be friends and associates of poor and negative people saying those are part of bad influences that hinders advancement to greatness.
âWhen you associate with poor and negative people, you smell bad things but a friend of wise men will always smell good and make it in life because he or she is positive in life â Dr. Kayongo said.
He shocked the gathering when he said that every man has 1000 God given gifts or talents and that they can be harnessed to give services and blessings to others.
Dr. Kayongo made the remarks while delivering a public lecture at the launch of his new book entitled âShining Amidst Darknessâ.
The launch that attracted dignitaries who included Makerere University Professors, Bishops and Pastors from the Pentecostal church, the clergy from the Anglican church and his friends some from the Muslim community, was a mind moving meeting as Dr. Kayongo shared his life experience and humble beginnings. Mr. Ambrose Byamugisha of Ambrosoli Business School also attended the launch.
He (Dr. Kayongo ) said he remembers being rode on a bicycle by his grandfather Kayiwa Yosia(father to Prof. Simeon Kayiwa) to church, his poverty striken father Dr. Rev. Busulwa a church of Uganda retired clergy who educated them through hardships but that he fought those feelings and experiences to become successful.
Dr. Kayongo who is the founder and senior Pastor of Nsangi Christian Fellowship said he fought his poor family background ruthlessly, resisted it and low self-esteem and is has been turned by God into a blessing to many.
He said everyone can succeed in life and after they can start emptying themselves in serving Godâs people unreservedly, adding that all human beings have great potential and advised Christians to wake up to their callings and to greatness.
The book was launched by over 30 leaders led by Bishop Lubinga Dickson. Â The ceremony took place at Nsangi Christian Fellowship Church which is located within Nsangi Town, along Kampala-Masaka Highway.

At the same occasion Bishop Kimbowa lunched Home of Stars Publishers Ltd a company owned and run by Dr. Kayongo and Prof. Paul Ssemakula and others. They intend to publish books for people and Christians at affordable rates to encourage leaders to read and publish books.
Dr. Kayongo said through writing books knowledge is shared and transferred to several generations which people keep reading when the authors and writers have died.
